Free domain name *.Co.Cc
No matter do you believe me or not, http://co.cc/id=136013 offers you a free domain name, actually not only one, but 3. Most of the domain names are already registered or reserved, but you don’t have to worry about that, there always will be some domain name reserved for ya ;)
It’s a second level domain and it’s control panel was recently updated, with the old domain cpanel you had only controls to set (domain) name servers and transfer your domain to your or some other dns servers(or.. your hosting company’s dns servers) or use the domain as a web forward, the new co.cc domain control panel version have not only this options PLUS dns records management (A, CNAME, MX), unfortunately there is still no AAAA or NS there and others.. but these three that are added now are enough for managing home or vps services like… web-forwards/redirects(CNAME), web-servers – www.somethin’.co.cc(A), and mail-servers(MX).
In case you need to work with other DNS record types you could transfer your domain to some free DNS service as freedns.afraid.org or zoneedit.com, where you could delegate an IPv6 subnet for example and make your www, ftp, mail, irc, etc, etc… servers and get them a A/AAAA, CNAME, MX, NS, PTR, etc.. depending on your need or knowledge.
Other alternative use of this domains could be if you want to own your forum, blog, gallery, cms, etc… without the need of paying anything at all! This way you could get a free domain name as your(nick)name.CO.CC(http://co.cc/id=136013), and register at some free hosting service as http://000webhost.com/?id=18804, than you can transfer your domain name to your new hosting’s DNS servers(this transfer sometimes can take ~2days waiting for the worlds dns servers to update the change) after that you are ready to start immediately to edit your site/cms/blog/forum/gallery.
